Professor in the Area of Food Science and Technology

At Basque Culinary Center, the Faculty of Gastronomic Sciences of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, we are looking for a Professor to contribute to the development of our educational programs. We are seeking a professional with autonomy, leadership skills, and a passion for teamwork—someone eager to contribute to the design and implementation of training programs that will shape the future of gastronomy. 

Your mission will be to be an active role in the teaching and research team within the Food Science and Technology area, helping to educate new generations of professionals in the sector from a scientific, creative, and applied perspective. 

On a day-to-day basis, you will... 

  • Co-design and participate in training activities for undergraduate, master's, and postgraduate students on topics such as biotechnology, food quality, beverage fermentation, and other areas related to food science and technology. 
  • Participate in research projects, contributing technical knowledge, scientific rigor, and a drive for innovation. 
  • Work in a collaborative and dynamic environment, in close contact with professionals from both the food and academic sectors. 

Requirements

Do you identify with the following? 

  • You hold a PhD, preferably in Food Science and Technology, Chemistry, Biology, or a related field. 
  • You have teaching experience, either in formal or non-formal education settings. 
  • You possess a strong scientific and technical foundation and have participated in projects related to gastronomy, the food industry, or culinary sciences. 
  • You are fluent in English (minimum C1 level), particularly in educational and professional settings. 
  • You have initiative, leadership skills, and enjoy working in a team to create positive impact. 

You will stand out if you... 

  • Have relevant international experience. 
  • Have developed a consolidated teaching career (over 5 years). 
  • Can communicate comfortably in Basque in a professional setting. 
  • Are passionate about continuous improvement, lifelong learning, and contributing to a pioneering educational project.
