BCC INNOVATION, the Basque Culinary Center's technology centre, is looking for a researcher to join its team to develop projects in the field of nutrition and health.
We see gastronomy as a key tool with which to promote nutritional education from childhood through all stages of life, in order to promote healthy eating habits and work on health promotion and the prevention of chronic diseases. From this approach, and with a focus on personalised health, we want to contribute to the creation of value in the field of personalised and healthy gastronomy through innovation and research projects.
The researcher will contribute with the following functions:
- Participate in the development of research and innovation projects in the area of health (regional, national and European public calls).
- Participate in the ideation of new studies and developments in the field of gastronomy and nutrition.
- Develop nutritional-culinary interventions aimed at researching and analysing their effect on different pathologies.
- Work together with chefs in the development of healthy and innovative food solutions.
- Generate updated nutritional content.
- Designing diets adapted to different physiopathological situations.
- Preparing and implementing new proposals, preparing reports and disseminating project results.
- Contribute and establish new contacts for the generation of a network of collaborators at regional, national and European level.
- To contribute with publications and scientific communications.
We are looking for a professional who meets the following requirements:
- PhD in nutrition or related subjects.
- Degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics or other science degrees (Food Science and Technology, Pharmacy, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Biotechnology) complemented with studies in Nutrition.
- Previous experience of at least 5 years in research/innovation projects in subjects related to the position.
- Knowledge of data analysis, statistical methods and database management.
- Experience in writing scientific articles and scientific dissemination activities.
- High interpersonal and writing skills (C1) in English, Spanish and Basque.
The following additional knowledge and experience will be valued:
- Experience in the clinical field.
- Experience in European projects.
- Experience as an entrepreneur in subjects related to the position.
