Are you passionate about gastronomy and enjoy combining cooking, planning and coordination? Are you motivated by working with high-quality, seasonal ingredients while making the most of available resources? At Basque Culinary Center, we are looking for someone who wants to contribute to the gastronomic production of our events and help us improve our offering.

Your main responsibility will be to plan and coordinate the gastronomic production of events organised at Basque Culinary Center. You will develop proposals and menus, taking into account product availability and stock levels, with a focus on quality and recipe costing. You will also organise production schedules and tasks, coordinating the teams involved in each event.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Coordinating schedules, production timelines and the tasks of the team involved in each event.
  • Contributing to the improvement and development of our gastronomic offering through creativity, culinary expertise and a focus on high-quality, seasonal ingredients.
  • Placing orders for the raw materials and tableware required, taking into account the needs of each production and the resources available.
  • Monitoring and controlling costs and budgets, focusing on efficiency and resource optimisation.
  • Making decisions in the kitchen and resolving unexpected situations independently and with sound judgement.
  • Maintaining kitchen facilities in good condition, complying with food safety and hygiene regulations and procedures.
  • Organising and monitoring production stock.

Requirements

Do you identify with these qualities?

  • You have at least one year of experience working as a chef.
  • You have completed a Higher Vocational Training qualification in Kitchen Management, Gastronomy or equivalent training in the culinary field.
  • You have strong communication, planning and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work independently.
  • You enjoy collaborative work and being part of a team.
  • You are comfortable using office software such as Excel and Word, and have an interest in or experience with digital purchasing and financial management platforms.

You will stand out if:

  • You have an advanced level of Basque and English (C1).
  • You have knowledge of traditional, contemporary and avant-garde culinary techniques.
  • You are proactive and adaptable, and eager to contribute new knowledge and ideas to the team.
  • You have experience working in creative and fast-paced environments.

Where and how will you work?

The position is based at Basque Culinary Center. Events may take place in any of our buildings and, on less frequent occasions, outside San Sebastián. Working hours may vary depending on the schedule of activities and events. We prioritise on-site work, but value independence, autonomy and self-organisation, enabling each person to manage their tasks and contribute to achieving our objectives.

What can you expect from Basque Culinary Center?

  • You will work in an environment built on trust. We offer a high degree of independence and flexibility, with a strong focus on achieving objectives.
  • A permanent, full-time contract.
  • You will become part of a continuously growing project in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment, giving you a broad perspective on the world of gastronomy.
  • You will play an active role in maintaining a positive working atmosphere. We care about the people on our team and are committed to their well-being.
  • A commitment to diversity and inclusion. If you have an official disability certificate, please let us know so that we can provide you with the most appropriate support.

Do you think you would be a good fit for our team? Send us your application. We look forward to hearing from you!
