Culinary Innovation Chef

Would you like to be part of an internationally pioneering institution in gastronomy and its entire value chain? Are you passionate about culinary innovation? 

At GOe Tech Center, the interdisciplinary research and innovation hub of the Basque Culinary Center, we are looking to incorporate a Culinary Innovation Chef into our team. 

Our main lines of work: 

  • Identifying cutting-edge trends and techniques in international gastronomy. 
  • Generating and sharing culinary and technical knowledge with the gastronomic sector and society. 
  • Researching and documenting how to transform raw materials into high-value foods through advanced, science-based techniques and controlled processes. 
  • Developing innovative food products and culinary concepts with creativity and scalability in mind. 

Your day-to-day will include: 

  • Designing, formulating, and testing culinary developments and prototypes. 
  • Creating innovative recipes and new product formulations, and presenting results to clients and partners. 
  • Coordinating projects, managing documentation, and maintaining ongoing client relationships. 
  • Supporting multi-area projects in collaboration with other teams within the center. 
  • Contributing to business development by identifying and engaging new clients or projects, including international opportunities. 
  • Occasionally conducting showcookings and workshops to share innovation and research outcomes. 

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with: 

  • Proven experience in professional kitchens and advanced culinary techniques, combined with a solid foundation in traditional cuisine. 
  • At least 8 years of professional experience. 
  • Formal education in gastronomy or related fields. 
  • High level of English (spoken and written). 

You’ll stand out if you: 

  • Thrive in interdisciplinary environments (science, technology, health, sustainability...). 
  • Have strong people management and teamwork skills. 
  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing (technical documentation, reports, presentations, workshops...). 
  • Are proficient in office and digital tools. 
  • Work meticulously in recording prototypes and recipes, ensuring reproducibility and traceability. 
  • Pay great attention to detail and follow protocols with discipline. 
  • Hold a driver’s license (having your own vehicle will be a plus).
