the evaluation of the environmental, economic and social impact of the gastro-food sector.
Search for solutions based on circular economy to improve the efficiency of the sector.
Development of methodologies and tools for assessing and improving the sustainability of the Horeca sector.
Development of policies and strategies that help administrations and companies to improve the efficiency of the food system.
Strategies and methods to improve the awareness and participation of all agents in the transformation towards a more sustainable food system. 

If you join our team, your day-to-day work will be...

• Participate in the development of innovation projects in the area of sustainability, regional, national and European public calls (Life, Horizon Europe, PRIMA or similar), as well as innovation projects with companies.
• Research and analyse methodologies to quantify food waste and its environmental impact with the aim of developing innovative solutions.
• Develop innovative solutions to reduce the environmental impact of food and processes in Horeca establishments.
• To measure the economic and social impact derived from the processes that occur in the gastro-food value chain and the application of improvement measures. 
• Carry out diagnoses of the gastro-food sector.  
• Develop methodologies and tools to improve the sustainability of the gastro-food sector that can be transferable to users.
• To make proposals, prepare reports and disseminate project results.

We are looking for people who...

• Hold a degree in Environmental Sciences, Food Industries, Biology, Chemistry, Engineering or other similar subjects.
• Have a Master's degree, especially in subjects related to the position.
• Have worked for at least the last 3 years in research projects or innovation consultancy in subjects related to the position. 
• Have knowledge of data analysis, statistical methods, database management, being used to use Excel for these functions.
• Have knowledge of Life Cycle Analysis and use of calculation software such as SIMAPRO or OPENLCA.
• Be familiar with the concepts of sustainability and circular economy, especially in the field of food.
• Are comfortable interacting in Spanish, English (C1) and Basque.

You will make a difference at BCC if:

• You have a PhD especially in subjects related to the position.
• Your experience has been focused on the design, elaboration of technical-economic proposals for public and private funding, as well as management of environmental consultancy, research, development and technology transfer projects.
• You have participated in European projects.
• You have knowledge and experience in the use of participatory tools and methodologies, as well as in social innovation projects, and in the field of food technology and processes and HORECA channel.
• You have the Certificate of official disability equal to or greater than 33%.
