Basque Culinary Center making good progress

28 June 2010

Just six months after the first stone of the future Culinary Science Faculty building was laid, representatives from the Basque Culinary Center have been able to see for themselves how the work is progressing. Two-and-a-half storeys of the five the building will eventually have, with an area of 11,000 m2, are already complete. The structure is now in place for the opening next year of the only university in the world with both a Culinary Science Faculty – unique in Spain – and an R+D Centre. Twelve months of work remain before the building, set to become a world reference point for culinary science, will be finished, as completion is due next summer. Spain’s first-ever Faculty of Culinary Science and the R+D Centre will welcome the first class of future graduate chefs for the 2010-2012 academic year.
