Almost 100% of Basque Culinary Center graduates find jobs

05 April 2018

100% employability. Of these, 7 in 10 are employed in managerial or middle management roles, despite their youth. A study by the Basque Culinary Center on the “Professional career of graduates from the Degree in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts” corresponding to the first three years of the course (2015, 2016 and 2017) reveals that the percentage of these graduates who have found work is still almost 100%.

The unemployment rate in 2015 was 2% and over the last two years was as low as 1%. A greater proportion of graduates are also employed in leadership roles. The percentage of last year graduates who hold a managerial or middle management position is now 68% compared to 55% the year prior. Overall, 63% of graduates from all three years are now in leadership roles.

These data become even more significant when we consider how quickly the graduates have secured employment (the last course finished nine months ago) as well as the fact that their average age is just 24, highlighting the long professional career that these young workers have ahead of them.
